Uploading files
Sick of grubbing around your hard drives or piles of CD/DVD archives to find a file? Periscope’s the answer.
Periscope stores all your files – PDF’s, Powerpoint presentations, Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, you name it – in the Periscope cloud for FREE (up to 1Gig per agency – which we reckon is about sufficient for up to 15 average users).
Periscope is built around the central concept of Projects, so if you’re going to upload a file to Periscope it has to be linked to a Project… So in 3 years time when you’re looking for that PDF containing a brilliant idea you sent to your client – you’ll find it attached to the Project. Search for the Project however you like – by client, by status, by project number/title – and your precious PDF will be there, safe and sound!
There are a couple of ways to upload files to Periscope:
1. Email your file to Periscope
We all rely heavily on email for communication and Periscope interfaces seamlessly with all the major email packages.
Place Periscope’s unique reference at the beginning of the subject line of your email and CC or BCC Periscope into the email. Periscope will automatically import the message – and any attachments – and place them in the Messages area of that Project and in the Files area too. File name, size and date of upload are all clearly displayed and you’re free to delete any unwanted or superseded files.
2. Upload a file directly from Periscope
Inside your Project scroll down to the Files panel and click the ‘Upload a file’ button.
Click the ‘Choose File’ button, drive to the file you want to upload, select it and click ‘Upload’. Periscope takes around 40 seconds to upload 1MB of data. Easy peasy.
